what graphics card do you have installed at present.......

i would have at least 1gb of ram. your cpu is 2ghz am i correct,i rarely use AMD chips. 2 ghz is ok for most games...

memory cpu and graphics is the main hting to look at.

unfortunatly you will be able to get a really good card for £40, but you will be able to get a card that works good enough.

i only paid £60 for mine and it plays all i throw at it.

downlaod everest from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

this will tell you what you already have installed.

post back your specs and i will see if i can help more.

go on to http://www.crucial.com and run the pc test and it will tell you how much more ram your motherboard can support and which ram you need to buy - as for your processor i would say try overclocking in the bios or via jumpers on the motherboard but you may need to update your pc's cooling system - otherwise you could fry your little baby. if you looking for good deals on equipment try http://www.dabs.com- you can get a geforce 8400 for under 50 euro on the site - its not the highest end card but its what im using and runs games well and supports full 1080 high def. you will need a graphics card to play the latest games - you cannot rely on your motherboard to run your graphics as it will dramitcally decrease your processing power on the pc which will show up in games. i would also recommend that you stick with xp at the moment - vista is far too new at the moment to fully rely on it to run things smoothly- just keep your drivers updated and you should be fine.

or you could throw it out the window and buy a new one! you get to watch it smash everywhere!
