Can't open "network connections"

XP Pro SP2 all updates

I can't open "network connections" to look at tcp/ip settings. I right

click on "network connections" in control panel and then click on

"open".....nothing happens.

If I open "network setup wizard" in control panel, it hangs up on the

second screen when "next" is clicked.

Everything else seems to be running fine. I have another machine on

the same router and it has no problems in the same area.

I ran sfc /scannow (one of the few suggestions I found in google

search), put in the WinXP CD as instructed, let it run until

completed, rebooted. No help.

Any thoughts?

With thanks,

Jack

Open Network Connections by double-clicking on it from the Control Panel>

right-click on your connection>Select Properties.

It's all there!!!

Should also be able to do it the way the OP was trying to do it.

Mick, PD43

Thanks, but that's exactly my problem. I can't open it from control

panel with double click or with right click, or, for that matter, with

the right click function from the "local area connection" icon in the

systray. All other functions seem normal with left or right click.

Sorry, I'm clueless on the subject. A couple of google searches of

this group didn't help either.
