Disable screen saver password protection for all TS users?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'd like to disable password protection on clients using remote desktop

sessions. We have a number of screens in our conference rooms that go to

our TS boxes. I'd like to make sure we can log people off without require

the admin account so I'd like to just disable password protection on their

screen savers but still require passwords to log on in general.

Thanks

That's easiest done with a Group Policy:

User Configuration - Administrative templates - Control Panel -

Display

"Screen saver"

"Screen saver executable name"

"Screen saver timeout"

Thanks - and I could do this to be only on that TS boxes? I'd certainly

want to leave the administrator screen saver enabled on our file servers.

Re: Disable screen saver password protection for all TS users?

Yes, that's possible.

Then you have to link the GPO to the OU which contains the TS

account, and configure loopback processing of the policy, with the

"Replace" option. See:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=231287

You can also deny administrators the right to "apply this policy"

in the security filtering of the GPO. See:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=816100
