PING does not work, but connections to WEB and E-mail perfect

I have Windows XP, SP #2, 4200+ AMD CPU.

When I run PCPitstop it shows for PING 0 ms, yet it uploads and downloads

fine, or I would not even be able to access this newsgroup.

When I go to "RUN" and the "CMD" and type "ping pcpitstop.com" it comes back

and says it does not recognize such a command.

What is causing this?

What happens when you open a Command Prompt

(Start / Run / cmd {OK}) and type this command:

%SystemRoot%\System32\ping.exe pcpitstop.com{Enter}

DSLReports.Com is another site that accepts Ping traffic and is

good for testing.

I tried that and it times out. 4 requests sent, none received.

What firewall are you using? Go to its forum and see how to allow ping

requests through it.

Does the Trend firewall pass Ping requests? It would seem that it doesn't.
