Guest JohnB Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I have as a client a small company that is setup with Windows for Workgroups. The other day they added a new PC on their own. In the past they always used, as the local username, first initial and last name. This time though, they used firstname and lastname, with a space in between. I need to setup a user folder on the server (W2K Server) for them. I add the user, add the folder, and setup the permissions for the folder. From the PC they can see the folder but not get into it. On the folder share, Everyone has Full permissions. On the specific user folder, only the new user account and the local admin accounts have permissions (Full). I am guessing that the space in the username on the PC is the problem so, I create another local account on the server with firstname and lastname, with the space in the middle - just like on the PC. Same problem, still can't open the user folder. What's the deal? This should be simple. Thanks.
