heartbeat alerts -

hi all

Hope someone can point me in the right direct.

We have windows server 2003 on all our servers , SCOM 2007 and run

another application off this to monitor the servers. We have the

normal monitors, cpu, etc.

Over the last few weeks we have had consistent heartbeat alerts being

sent for majority but not all of our servers.

Heartbeat alerts - therefore are sending alerts for all the services

on the servers. They resolve normally pretty quickly.

error logs are showing 7031: service terminated unexpectantly - but

nothing much else.

Can someone shed any light on what I should look for? or suggest a

monitor we may be missing that can help

cheers

Dianne

an update here that may help

(Service) on all servers = Linux and Windows.

heartbeat fails are only on Windows servers

say there are 10 servers in the windows environment

7 of those will fail with heartbeat at different times and the

(Service) gets restarted (shows in the logs)

3 of those will fail with heartbeat at different times and the

(Service) continues to run (nothing in the logs)

cheers
