Hi all,

I'l on my knees praying that someone can help. I would say i'm computer literate but not that good with them to be honest.

I've had a look at the other posts but I can't find any specific to mines....

When I start the P.C up it boots up...well it tries to then get the instant blue flash and blue screen error code. I managed to disable the auto restart (F8) in order to see what the problem was and it gave me the **STOP Ox00000008E (Oxc00000005, Ox804D92C2, OxBAD9F6D4, Ox00000000. If i didnt stop the auto start all the P.C does it attempt to re-boot.....very very very quick flash of blue screen and re-attempts to boot up again...this could go on for ages until I just gave up

I cannot boot up in safe mode, I can't go back and start the P.C from the last known good configuration...I cant do anything with the P.C at this stage....it won't let me.

So this is part of the problem......I've downloaded a few programmes and stuff and read forums ect but I can't get it by the blue screen in order to install any repair programmes or utilities.

I don't have a windows disk as the softwear was pre-installed from Time P.C's. The windows XP Home is on the "Time Start Up Disk" but if I put that in the only prompt it gives is to ask if I want to revert my P.C to it's original state which would wipe out EVERYTHING.

Would having a seperate Windows XP disk help recover my files??

I havent put any additional hardware in recently. I put in extra usb's and a DVD drive but that was well over a year ago.

I need to recover my DATA.

1. Time PC.

2. Athlon AMD

3. 5 year old.

Don't know much else about it tbh.

Many Many Thanks guys and I promise if someone helps me fix this I'll do my bit and make a good donation.

Thanks

Hi Asbost, looks like you nearly slipped the net.

If it is possible to obtain a new operating system disk and it does need to be to the same level of service pack such as SP2 or SP3, depending on whether you installed those service packs, then you should be able to do a repair.

However, if it is XP Home, you may have trouble finding one now, though some retailers may still have a stock. Either a local store may be able to help or a look on line for one.

There is another approach though if the data is important, and it will also prove if the hard drive is OK or the cause of the problem. It will involve removing the hard drive from the machine and also obtaining an adapter to connect the drive to another computer in order to get at and remove that data to the other machine.

if you want to try that way first, let us know and we can help further.

Nev.
