RE: Windows 2008 Standard refuses to upgrade because of Powershell!

Hello,

You may want to try this to be able to uninstall Powershell since you have

SP2.

931941 The Oobmig.exe tool is available to restore trust to out-of-band

updates after you install Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2

Thanks,

That won't help me, as I've erased $NtServicePackUninstall$ and all other $Uninstall dirs.

Are there any files I could manually delete and unregister?

in that case you have two options

1) restore those files from you backup

2) re-install the OS

Okay I inserted the windows 2003 standard edition and ran Repair. The server then came up with Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1.

Since I had deleted the c:\windows\$NtUninstallKB926139$ from the server, I had to copy it from another server.

I then ran C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB926139$\spuninst\spuninst.exe and finally powershell uninstalled.

Thanks Edwin for your help!
