We run 2 servers

1 x std server 2003

1 x std server 2003 with exhange 2003

We have a number of users with laptops that VPN into the server and use

outlook. These users connect to the internet with a 3g connection and

outlook works ok

One of my directors also has a laptop and again connects to outlook with the

3G adaptor, this user has wifi at home and the only way he could connect to

the server by VPN was to change the router ip range to the same as the server

ip range 192.168.16.x

When I take the laptop to another location ie my house my router uses a ip

range of 192.168.0.1 and will not connect to outlook tells me my

exchangeserver in not available

Any ideas to what's causing the problem?

Did you already try trace route (tracert) to see which interface the laptop

uses to reach the Exchange server. I had a couple of similar situations and

one fix was to change the priority of interfaces (winxp) and one was to

disable the Ethernet interface while using 3G adapters.
