Guest Ryan Hanisco Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I have a cluster group in which a Network Name was created that was a duplicate of another Network Name Resource. This failed one resource group and put the other in online pending. I cannot get the cluster administrator to open and the commend prompt will not let me fail the groups, delete the resource, or do much of anything. Suggestions? -- Ryan Hanisco MCSE, MCTS: SQL 2005, Project+ http://www.techsterity.com Chicago, IL Remember: Marking helpful answers helps everyone find the info they need quickly.

Guest Ryan Hanisco Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Re: Duplicate Network Name Resource / Online Pending Thanks, Edwin. The issue I was having was that the Cluster Administrator would start, but would hang when enumerating the groups and resources in the cluster so I would just see a white screen. I was seeing this hang with cluster group and cluster res as well. Luckily, I remembered the names of the groups and resources. It would not allow me to delete resources or take groups offline, but as one of the duplicately-named resources was locked, cluster res <resource name> /rename:<New Name> did work and changed the name of one of the resources. Once that was done, I had to tell it to bring the two problematic groups online (Cluster group <group> /on) and the cluster came back moments later.
