Having some problems with my laptop. Often when I turn it on I get the Intel screen and the bar at the bottom goes just over half way and freezes. Turning off the laptop is the only way I can get past this, but sometimes that doesn't work so I have to take the battery out then turning it back on again. I'm running Vista and when I get to my desktop, it often installs new drivers - despite me not having installed any new software or put in new devices.

Here's the details:

laptop: Advent 7113

Intel Celeron M430 1.72 GHz

OS: Vista

One of the names of the drivers is:

DFDBW SOSG-(3#S ATA Device

I'm guessing this is something to do with a virus. I'm only using Windows defender and havging run scans using it over the past few days it says there's no viruses.

Anyone able to help?
