Guest Hrshoer Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 I have recently purchased Works 9 for our new computer. We also have Office 2002 loaded. With Vista as our operating system. I have found the old Works Data Bases that I made in Works 98. They were transfered from the old computer and were found under My Documents like they should be. Somehow my new system is confused. If I try to double click the file (from My Documents). I get a error message. "The selected file is not a valid Microsoft Office Document Imaging File". Under this files "properties" it is listed as a "WDB File (.wdb)" The only way that I can open this file is from the Start, Programs, Microsoft Works Database, Open existing database, then selecting this file. This is the long way around and would like to be able to put a shortcut on the desktop to go directly to this database like I did before. Can anyone tell me where my problem is and how to fix this. Thank you Gary

Guest MoiMeme Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Re: Works98 to Works9 if you right-click and select open with -> choose program -> browse to your works program and check allways open with that program. Does it work ?
