Is there any way to diable the marquee option of the screensaver function? I

teach in a juvenile prison facility and there is a problem with students

using this option to send gang-related messages. I do not want to disable

the whole screensaver function, just that one option. Thanks

Go to C:\Windows\System32 and delete the file ssmarque.scr. Not sure if

you'd also want to delete sstext3d as they could put small phrases in that

way as well.

Best of luck,

If you have Windows XP Pro installed on these systems, you can set up the screen

saver as you want and then use the Local Security Policy editor to remove the

Screen Saver tab from the Display Properties sheet.

Go to Start -> Run and enter gpedit.msc in the Open box. Click OK.

In the Group Policy editor, navigate to this location.

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel -> Display

In the right hand pane, right click on Hide Screen Saver tab and select

Properties from the menu.

Select Enabled and click OK.

Keep in mind that this setting will effect all users of the computer. You would

have to use an administrative account to reset this policy to Not Configured to

restore access to the Screen Saver tab.

Good luck
