Hi, recently my pc got infected with with a bunch of viruses and malware - (16 in total:eek:!), comodo removed alot of them on the spot, but some slipped through the net and attached themselves to toshiba manuals, WLAN, webcam and install shield. I ran a virus scan, which detected and removed the lot. I then ran a malware scan using malwarebytes, which detected and removed a worm and malware.. fast forward one month later and im looking in my toshiba\driver folders, and i notice that there's two compressed winrar folders named Data1, Data 2, and a layout vlc media bin file in all the places where i had those viruses (webam, WLAN, manuals), they're dated as being modified on 22/1/08 ( I installed winrar and vlc player about 3 months ago ). so my question is after this long explination (sorry), should i remove these files?.. Many, many thanks in advance for your time,

Dave. :)

Without knowing what's in the folders I can't say. However since you already ran Malwarebytes you should also run SUPERAntiSpyware. If both come up clean and your computer is working good you're likely ok leaving well enough alone.

I will warn you though that if you are downloading rar files especially from torrent sites then that is a likely possibility as to the source of your infections. I would stay away from rar files unless you know positively that they come from a trusted site as a lot of malware propogates by that method.
