dvd/cd-rw doesn't respond

I get the message -- "can't read disc, possibly corrupted or incorrectly

formatted", but it says that no matter what disc I use, and I've not had

trouble with any of these in the past. If I try to use an audio disc it

reads -- "insert disc" when it's is already in. Any suggestions?

Try your discs in another system. Perhaps your drive has died.

Try in safemode.

Uninstall all third party Cd burning apps.

Disable firewall.

Disable Antivirus.

Try system restore.

Also check whether you are able to boot from your WindowsXP installation

Disk in BIOS.If xp disk worked Repair/Reinstall Windowxp Installation.

You forgot to add: get out of your chair, turn around two times to the

left and then once to the right and sit back down.
