indexing service

hi,

 

is it possible to programmatically invoke microsoft indexing service to

index only the files that i want, and when i want to, rather than have it

watch the contents of nominated folders and index everything it finds there.

i need to be able to programmatically point the service to a file to index

it, and then delete the file, but the results of indexing would stay in the

index. is this possible, and how - i could not find anything in the

documentation.
