After installing the same app, the results are:

W98 Wxp

500mb installed memory 2000mb installed memory

unused memory - 15mb (last) unused memory - 1600mb (last)

Cache size Cache size

400mb (peak) 350mb (peak)

400mb (last) 75mb (last)

First, notice that under W98 there was more cacheing (see peak) even though

there is less installed memory.

Second, notice that Wxp shrunk the cache down to 75mb after the app was

installed. Under W98, there was no shrinking of the cache.

How can one increase cacheing under Wxp and how can one stop cache shrinking

under Wxp?

Don't worry about it, it is still just fine.

RE-posted for clarification

After installing the same app to both W98 and Wxp, the results are:

.....................................................................................................

W98

500mb installed memory

unused memory - 15mb (last)

Cache size

400mb (peak)

400mb (last)

................................................................................................

Wxp

2000mb installed memory

unused memory - 1600mb (last)

Cache size

350mb (peak)

75mb (last)

......................................................................................................

First, notice that under W98 there was more cacheing (see peak) even though

there is less installed memory.

Second, notice that Wxp shrunk the cache down to 75mb after the app was

installed. Under W98, there was no shrinking of the cache.

How can one increase cacheing under Wxp and how can one stop cache shrinking

under Wxp?

Why would it be cached if there's enough RAM for it?

Re: Attention MVP'S and experts

I installed the app. I did not run it.
