Keyboard doesn't work, Sony vaio

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-S460 running Win XP home on which the keyboard suddenly stopped working. This goes for both the built in keyboard and any external USB keyboard that I've attached. When attaching the external keyboard, none of the regular keypad work, but the multi-media keys on it function. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers but that has done nothing.
