Hi All,

I installed a printer in Windows 2003 server by using setup local printer

with standard TCP/IP Port. I shared the printer as a network printer. I setup

a lot of users to use the printer.

Now, I want to change the printer's name from Win2003 server, but I know

that user could not delete the printer after I change the printer name from

server. I know what I can do is that I can ask each user to delete the

printer, after all users finish delete it, then I change the printer on

server. The problem is that users use the printer all the time, and I could

not ask all users to delete the printer at same time, they work on different

shift. It is very difficult for me to ask more than 20 users to delete the

printer at same time and don't allow them to use the printer.

Does anyboday has any good ideas to solve the problem?

Thanks a lot.

Re: printer issue

You could delete the printer with a script:

http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/Logon/Logon_Remove_Printer.htm#Example_1_-_Simple_RemoveNetworkDrive_

You'd run that script from your login script. Test it on your machine

first.
