Hi I keep getting this blue screen with white writing saying i have an error "Unmountable_Boot_Voulme" and it underneath that it shows an error code 0x86f83900, 0xc0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000. (this happens everytime i boot up my pc)

So i done some research on this and realised I had to go into BIOS and and disable floppy disk so i could reebot my pc using a cd (windows xp cd). but th problem is every time i try to do it a black screen appears sayin "Floppy diskette failure". And one last thing My cd drive won't even open! or close. I have to get a pin to open it! :( It won't read my xp installation disk?

I have a Dell Dimension 5150, 64 bit and it is xp

If any one has any idea on what i should do or if you can help me it will be much appreciated! :)

Hi and welcome to Free PC help.

This sounds like a problem with the CD drive itself, the BIOS is seeing that so trying the floppy drive and probably not finding that either.

The first thing to check is to power off, then remove the cover, I assume this is a desktop, Check all cables are properly plugged in to the back of the CD drive, and also the floppy drive if it has one. It is sometimes best to actually remove then refit the plugs to ensure a good connection, then try again.

Nev.
