Hi,

I have some experience of PCs but am fairly new to Macs. I don't know if anyone can help with this request?

I am trying to download a copy of a short video using a Mac (I no longer have a PC) but am finding it really hard as it is a flv file through a RTMP protocol, rather than http.

None of the usual routes seem to work - I have tried pasting the URL into websites which save videos from most sites but this site is too protected. I have even used Jing to grab a copy of the video but it only comes out as a .swf which seems to be corrupted and will not open in any of the usual programmes.

It seems that there are ways to get around this on the PC but I am really struggling on the Mac. I know FLV recorder or similar will work on the PC but sadly I don't have access to one.

If anyone has any ideas please help as I have tried most things now but hoping someone will know an easier way around it!

thanks a lot

Hi.

I don't have a Mac so I don't know the best software to use but others here do have Macs.

There are a lot of different downloaders out there but it depends on what site the videos are on as to whether they will work. What is the site?

If they are FLV after the download all you need is a FLV player or converter.
