curlykale Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Hi, I have an Asus P5B-E mobo which has USB56, USB78 and USB910 connections. I have a 5.25" bay mounted card reader to install. It's no big deal except that the cable supplied connects to the card reader but the header at the other end does not match my free USB78 and USB910 pins. It's a flat white cable with little red markings, I had an existing cable from a previous Chinese card reader which does match up. I could try to connect the wires from each cable but I don't want to start figuring out which USB+5, USB p7, GND matchs the other, any other solutions, is this new cable configuration rare, is there an adaptor? Thanks, I hope I have made things clear enough..... Quote

curlykale Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 Too easy, I got this off ebay! From Hong Kong and guess, no manual, no name on it. When my avatar is approved it will show the connection I need on the left and the one supplied on the right, it has a flat white cable with tiny wires, nothing as nice as red, green, blue etc......... thanks Quote

curlykale Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 Please look at my Avatar image, thats what I'm talking about, on the left is one from a broken card reader that fits and the one on the right is the one supplied which has a different pin configuration. The one that fits won't connect to the card reader, wrong pins..... Quote
