I've got several insrtallations of Windows XP on my machine. In one of the

installations the icons take up too much space on the screen. The problem

seems to be that the lables are placed to to the right of thr icons instead

of underneath them.

I've reinstalled Windows XP several times. No luck.

Please help!

RE: Icons take up too much space on screen.

If you right click on the desktop and go to Properties and then Settings,

Increasing the screen resolution will make your icons smaller. I have no

idea why the label appears at the side of the icon, I'm afraid

Re: Icons take up too much space on screen.

Screen resolution is the same everywhere. I found the problem. I had the

view setting set to "tiles" rather than "icons". Problem solved!
