terry71 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Hi. Since formatting my hard drive a couple of months ago I re-installed all drivers and software etc. Since that time an image appears on screen 'No support!':( . This disappears when I clickthe 'A' button on my monitor. It then re-appears when the PC is 'sleeping' after a period of inactivity and again disappears when the monitor button is pressed, when the worth 'auto' appears in red then goes away. This is irritating and would love some kind person to solve the problem for me. Thank you. Terry (F) Quote
maynardvdm Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Hi When does this error message appear? When you run a program or is it just random? If possible, could you tell us the exact error message. Thank you. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. terry71 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 Hi. Thanks for reply. It appears when I first boot up then re-appears when computer rests for a while. Each time it goes away when I click the 'A' button om my monitor then reappears again when computer inactive. It isnt an error message as such just a rectangle on screen showing the words 'no support with an exclamation mark. No Ok or cancel options. Hope this explains OK Quote
maynardvdm Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 What size monitor do you have and what is the resolution set to? Try changing it to 1024 X 768 to see if the error still appears. Plastic Nev Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 This does sound like some sort of monitor problem rather than being linked to your recent re format and is probably coincidental. Can you try the monitor on a different computer, just to see if there is any change? Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Thank you anyway Nev. Any more ideas - it is so irritating because this image appears every time it is at rest for just a few minutes. I too think it is a monitor problem. What I cant understand is why it goes off when I press the A button on the monitor then re-appears later? Quote

terry71 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 thanks to all who have replied re this problem of 'no support' Still trying to find the solution if there is anyone out there who can help Quote
Plastic Nev Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 The one thing I think may be a part of the problem or even all of it, is the refresh rate being at 85Hz, that seems a bit high. Normal rate for my monitors are both 60Hz, try adjusting down to 60Hz. It may well be the monitor itself protesting that it cannot support that rate. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems?
