Engadget reports that Wal-Mart is pulling the gPC from its stores. The Linux-based machines will still be available through online sales, which the company says were 'considerably more effective'

Although the company did sell all its stock, it decided that the gPC wasn't what its customeres were looking for.

Of course 'completely sold out' is a good thing, but really depends on how many you had in stock in the first place. If Wal-Mart treated this as an experiment, was there enough marketing behind it? Or do folk really expect to get a Windows machine when they buy from Wal-Mart?
