Strange type of lag?

I know many of you may of had this before, but i get it almost constantly. When typing, my text will lag. By that i mean i cannot see what im typing (screen freeze) for a few seconds, although everything else seems to work, then it will appear.

 

It happens in most applications MSN, Word, Chrome.

 

I have dbl cheacked no AV/Spyware/Ad-ware etc is running (both anti apps and the stuff its self)

 

Short of a re-install, which would be a PITA as i have an upgrade only, any suggestions?

Hello there.

 

Lets see if there is a corruption on the OS.

 

Click start/all programs/accessories/right click on command prompt and choose run as admin/copy and past sfc /scannow into the command window and hit enter on your keyboard/let me know final results please.

Check for rootkits!

 

Is your CPU very hot - remove, repaste and reseat.

 

Change HD cable.

 

Defrag HD including system files on boot. (get trial of Perfect Disk to do that)
