I plan to implement file storage quotas on Server 2003 R2 SP2. This is a busy

file server with a 'Users' top level folder with nearly 400 user home

directories as subfolders. These user home directories are already populated

with data and have multiple subfolders under each user home directory.

Unfortunately, we are not able to apply a single quota and apply it at the

top level 'Users' folder and choose the option of an Auto apply template and

create quotas on existing and new subfolders.

I have created 2 templates--one for 1 GB and the other for 2 GB. Is it

accurate to say that I have to create a separate quota for each of the nearly

400 user home directories using whichever of the 2 templates is appropriate

so that I will have 400 quotas? If there's an easier way, I'd like to know.

Also in order to have the quotas apply to all existing content in all

subfolders and any new content in all subfolders within each user's home

directory folder, do I select the "create quotas on path" option or the

""Auto apply template and create quotas on existing and new subfolders?

Finally, if there is a guidance document which delves into the ins and outs

of how to apply quotas to supplement the Help entries which are a bit sparse

in content, that would be appreciated.
