802.1x Radius Problems

I have built a new Windows 2003 IAS server and configured Wireless

Authentication (802.1X).

I followed the TechNet documentation "Securing Wireless LANs with

Certificate Services".

I have a test laptop which has a Wireless Group Policy applied, I confirmed

the wireless policy settings are applied to the laptop, the user and computer

certificates were enrolled and installed.

A Linksys WRT300N has been configured as the Wireless Access Point and has

the relevent Radius server settings applied.

The problem is that the laptop attempts to connect to the Access Point, it

connects and then within seconds it disconnects, it attempts a reconnect

several times but then gives up. There are no obvious errors showing in the

event viewer, there are a couple of EAPOL 2002 and RegSrv Events but nothing

else.

I checked the logs on the IAS server and it shows the user/computer as

requesting access and access being granted, no errors appear in the IAS or

Event Logs.

I have tried several different laptops and two different Linksys access

points, I have also reapplied many of the configuration settings on IAS but

still the same.

from what I can see the IAS, Root CA and Group Policy are all working fine,

im assuming the issue is either the Access Point or the Client.

Can anyone help?

RE: 802.1x Radius Problems

Everytime I get to the point of desperation and post a problem on this

newsgroup I end up fixing the problem myself 5 minutes later!

It was down to the Access Point, the security settings on the Linksys

WRT300N were set to "RADIUS" which common sense would suggest is correct, but

no, so I set it to PSK-Enterprise and TKIP. Updated the Group wireless

Policy to match and hey presto!
