running to monitors

Hi , have just brought a new pc and want to run 2 monitors. i have one VGA port and an HDMI port is it possibble to run duel screens from these ports. i brought a HDMI to VGA lead but the screen is not working through this. Any ideas>

Hi

 

Since your running Windows 7 have you to tried the detect second monitor within windows to to this press the start button then type display in the search box then select change display settings then select detect so let windows attempt to find your second display. Hope this works

It depends what the ports are on are they on the MOBO or are they on an add in GPU card.

 

If its the MOBO then I would use windows as Armageddon said, if its a GPU card then I would use the software within the driver from ATI or NVIDIA
