large block size support?

I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 server that is attached to an EMC

CLARiiON using (2) Emulex LPe11000-E fiber channel HBAs.

I have loaded the latest drivers and firmware for the HBAs

(drv=5-2.01A4, fw=2.72A2)

I have also installed KB932755 for updates to STORPort.

However I'm still experiencing slow write speeds to LUNs on the CLARiiON.

The LUN in question is made up of (9) 146Gb 10k RPM Fiber Channel drives.

When performing a write operation whether it be a copy from Windows or some

type of backup to disk the speed is slow and I have also discovered that the

Disk Bytes per Write are maxed out at 65292 bytes (64Kb) which I thought was

a limitation experienced in Server 2003 pre-SP1..??

I have found information regarding LSI and QLogic adapters but nothing

specific to Emulex that allows you to configure the block size Windows uses

to write to the disk.

Anybody seen this or got around it?
