Invalid Color Profile

I have a windows 2003 server standard edition SP2 print server that is

giving error messages when you try to update print drivers. This

seems to occur on many models and it is not related to printer driver

version; the same drivers work on another identical server. Here is

what happens:

If you try to update or install a newer printer driver

(Printers..Server Properties...Drivers tab OR Update Driver on the

printer), I can walk through the entire process until the last step.

When you hit Finish, it begins to copy the newer files to the server.

It then errors, saying "specified color profile is invalid". It then

returns you to the Finish screen. You must cancel out.

Here is what I've tried to resolve the issue:

1. Replacing the icm32.dll file in the c:\windows\system32 directory

from service pack files and from earlier versions. There are some

other posts out there that mention this as a solution. Didn't work

for me.

2. Removing drivers completely, re-adding. Get same message.

3. Recreating the printer from scratch with a new port. Same

message.

4. Trying an earlier version of the drivers. Same message at end.

5. Tried removing the default color profile on the printer object so

that there was no default profile selected. No help.

6. Already searched google, etc. Tried suggested solutions. One so-

called MS VP suggested removing all the printer drivers. This is NOT

an option as we probably have at least 100 different drivers installed

and in use.

7. Already rebooted. Didn't help at all.

Any help would be much appreciated. I am a system admin with 8 years

experience and I have never run into this problem before. I've also

never posted to the groups because you good people generally already

have the solutions I need : )

Thanks.
