Guest caltex67 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I have a mixed mode domain (1) 2000 Server Domain Controller and the rest are 2003 Server. My PDC emulator is a 2003 Server and its time remains correct after adjusted for DLS. My 2000 Server DC, and both of my 2003 DCs continue to reset their time to pre-daylight savings time, which renders them one hour behind. I edited the registries of the affected servers by going to: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters and modifying the ntpserver string to point to the PDC emulator whose time is correct. They still reset themselves after about 20 or 30 minutes. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Guest neo [mvp outlook] Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Re: Daylight Savings Time issue Microsoft never released a patch for the Windows 2000 platform to update the time zone database. Instead they released http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;914387&sd=RMVP on how to address earlier platforms like Windows 2000. Follow the steps and then you should see that your Windows 2000 servers/workstations will behave correctly.
