Ijustdontknow Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 My PC only has a 100 GB hard drive, 256MB of RAM. Add and Remove Programs counted 62 programs installed on my PC REVO uninstaller counted 99. Is this too many? The C/ drive says it has 84% free space. I will try to copy and paste both lists, if anybody wants to try to confirm if this is true I don't know how. Quote
Jelly Bean Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Copy both lists and we will see what we can see what is up. You realy should upgrade your RAM to at least a gig if your computer can utilise that amount. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................

It all depends .... do you actually use those programs? I only ever keep what i need to use. And only you know what you actually need. Quote Member of:UNITE
KenB Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hi, I have to agree with J-B 256MB is hardly enough - your machine must be running extremely slow. I suspect that it is freezing at times too ?? If you want to upgrade your RAM ( which will make a big difference) try scanning your system from here: RAM Memory Upgrade: Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq. USB drives, flash cards, SSD at Crucial.com Crucial Scan will tell you the maximum RAM that the motherboard can support. It will also tell you what is compatible and give you an idea of price. Tony D Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 My PC only has a 100 GB hard drive That must be an old hard drive. I'd be concerned about how long it'll last. Make sure to keep it backed up. The C/ drive says it has 84% free space. That's prefectly fine. Don't worry about the hard drive until it gets to around 20% free space. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Cool thanks for the tip! "I suspect that it is freezing at times too ?" It is running a little slow opening windows but it has not lock up yet Quote

It slows down when I have too many windows open or try to close a few really quick. If it dies it dies. That will give me the excuse to get a new one. I'm not very computer savvy any way so it is not that big of a priority for me. Quote
RandyL Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 As noted it might be not enough memory which is cheap. I believe you can go up to 1 Gb. Quote We are all members helping other members.
