Can't use remote desktop

Hello,

We have Windows 2003 server w/ISA 2004 installed.

We can use remote desktop connect to all workstations.

About 2~3 weeks ago, we can not use remote desktop any more.

The ISA is working fine and we did not change any ISA setting.

How can we solve this problem?

Thanks

RE: Can't use remote desktop

Hello,

Is this possible to use regedit.exe to connect to workstations and check the

remote desktop connection?

Thanks

You need to say if you're using Remote Desktop from

inside or from outside your network.

Your first step should be to check if the RDP host responds

to a telnet command:

telnet YourHost 3389

You can use regedit to access a remote registry but you must

know what you're going to change.

Re: Can't use remote desktop

Hello,

I am from outside remote to Windows 2003 Server then using Windows 2003

Sever to connect to local workstations.

I can connect to server but I can not connect to workstations from server.

I could do it before. But something happen, I can't connect anything except

server.

I can ping local address i.e. 192.168.1.1, workstation name i.e. ws-100, RDP

port 3389 is open. All workstation remote desktop is enabled.

Thanks

Re: Can't use remote desktop

You write "I can connect to the server". I assume this means

that you can establish a Remote Desktop session on the server.

Is this correct?

What then is the exact process you use to establish a Remote

Desktop session on the workstation? Please give full details!

You write "I can ping local address i.e. 192.168.1.1, workstation

name i.e. ws-100, RDP port 3389 is open. All workstation remote

desktop is enabled." This may well be so but you MUST verify

this with telnet.exe, as per my first reply.

Is the server a Small Business Server 2003? If it is are you using Remote

Web Workplace? If it's not are you using a VPN to connect to the server?

Re: Can't use remote desktop

Hello,

Our company has a branch office at SF.

In SF office, we have one Windows 2003 standard server w/ISA 2004 standard

installed. We also have 10 workstations in SF office.

Server has 2 NICs. One NIC is public address, One NIC is 192.168.1.1

All workstations' operating system are Windows XP Pro w/SP2 installed.

IP from 192.168.1.11 to 192.168.1.20

Name from WS11 to WS20

Remote Desktop enabled.

I can connect to SF's server from LA, then from SF's server connect to SF's

workstations.

I don't have any problem until 2~3 weeks ago. I can not connect to

workstations any more.

I didn't change any ISA setting. RDP open for all workstations.

Thanks

See Pegasus' first reply about the telnet test.
