Woodbug Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I wonder if anyone can help me. I live in the campo in Spain and rely on Skype and Voipcheap via the net. (orange mi-fi). The mi-fi is good, but I get very bad echos on Voipcheap, and distortion and breaks in conversations on Skype. It only happens on my desktop, and is fine on other computers in the house - has anyone had experience of this and do you have any advice to offer? All help will be gratefully received. Woodbug. Jelly Bean Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hello there. I myself and many others have had this issue and found no fix.It is a Skype issue or certain chat issues. Maybe someone else can input and help you? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Woodbug Posted March 4, 2010 Author Posted March 4, 2010 Thanks Jelly Bean, I just can't understand why it is only on one perticular computer, when it works on 3 others OK. Anyway some one might have an idea! Quote
Plastic Nev Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 You may already have tried this, but an uninstall completely of Skype and Voipcheap, use something like Revo uninstaller to mop up everything, then reinstall, see if it is down to a corruption in the installation on that particular computer. If you haven't got Revo, it is free, or you can use the pro version for 30 days free trial from here- Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download it searches out, and can remove, all the left behind files and bits that the normal uninstall leaves behind. That way you can be sure a new install won't be influenced by any remaining bits. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here.
