fsyozabil Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I have a Compaq AMD-64Athlon 3200+ 2Gb ram 1.99Ghz running Windows XP Home. Each time I run my avg 9 free antivirus, I get a box tell me the nv4 driver has stopped working properly, sometimes it includes a fuzzy screen. I've found a new driver. Should I uninstall the old driver before installing the new driver? I saw some advice, given to someone else, which recommended uninstalling card then rebooting, selcting vga in safe mode, then uninstalling antivirus before installing new driver. If this is correct, is uninstalling the card the same as uninstalling the old driver? Quote
Jelly Bean Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 You can either uninstall the driver and then install a fresh new one or just install the newer driver. In your case it maybe better uninstall the old one then install the new one. Your screen may look a little odd untill you reset your resolution etc. If this dont resolve your issue please post back and we can help you further.
