Underline turns bold

I have a 3 line paragraph that needs to be underlined. The last line reads

this "Agreement"). Agreement is bold italic.

When I underline the entire paragraph the third line of the paragraph (this

"Agreement").) turns the underline to bold, while in the rest of the

paragraph the underline appears not bold or normal. The funny thing is if

you add spaces to the third line of the paragraph the bold comes off the

underline. Anybody have an answer to that one? I can send an example if

need be.

If you don't get your answer here I suggest that you post in the

microsoft.public.word.newusers newsgroup. It is a very active group and a

lot of Word gurus hang out there.
