Setting in application not saved

Good morning,

 

When connecting to a W2K3-server using RDP an application is automatically

started, a language-setting in this application is not saved.

What can I do to make sure that every (domain)-user get's his own settings

in this application?

Where is this setting saved, in a file or in the Registry? In what kind of

file or which portion of the Registry, HKLM or HKCU?

Hi Jonathan,

 

Don't know, no file I guess, can't find anything on the server.

The application is ACCOUNTVIEW.

Hi John,

 

sorry it took awhile. I don't know the application but the setting is most

likely stored in the Registry. You could ask the manufacturer in which key

this language setting is stored. You can also use Regmon

(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/processesandthreads/regmon.mspx)

to find out what keys are accessed during the startup of the program.

 

Once you've found out which key is read by the program, this key can be

applied to all users through a logon script or Group Policy.
