Modify New Folder naming

Hi, I've heard that it should be possible to modify the folder name when you

create

a New Folder. For example the suggested default name "New Folder" could be

modified to a new default suggestion, for example New Folder+date. This would

result in folder names like New Folder 20080313, New Folder 20080314 etc.

 

In that case, how do you do that?

Since I'm from Sweden I don't know what the expression DOH! means but I

looked it up on the net, and it means ""Expressing frustration at the

realization that things have turned out badly or not as planned, or that one

has just said or done something foolish. Also (usually mildly derogative):

implying that another person has said or done something foolish."

 

So if you think I asked something foolish, ok, but I do know that I can add

the date manually in the folder name, my question was if there was a way of

getting it done automatically, for reasons that at least I now about.

It originated on the Simpson's TV program.

What you asked cannot be done AFAIK. Just add the date manually when

the box for naming the new folder pops up (hit your END key to get to

the point where you add the date to "New Folder").

 

It's really just as simple as that.

 

FYI (For Your Information), I've been monitoring this group since

October of 2001 when Windows XP was first released, and your query on

this is the first I've seen... which should be an indication as to how

important your specific need is compared to the needs of the majority

of XP users.
