Should I delete the old "ME" files?

I am running XP, and I was cleaning up files and noticed that in the disk

cleanup, I had the old "98/ME" installation files and back up files which is

about 1 gig. Should i delete them in the disk cleanup? Does it matter,

will it mess anything up? This is an old computer but i use it once in a

while or the grandkids do. please advise. thank you, dan

Do something daring.

DELETE THEM.

They only exist to let you go back to WinME... which would really be a

very bad choice, gramps.
