Setting common control properties/attributes centrally in ASP.NET?

Being a purist, I insist all of my controls have the Display="Dynamic" and EnableClientScript="false" properties set. But they have the nasty habit of making my aspx source lines long and hard to read.

 

Unfortunately ASP.NET Skin files only allow the setting of presentational attributes centrally and not functional attributes.

 

I was thinking of setting the properties in my BasePage.Init event, but the validators might override that, I don't know if I can trust such a method.

 

Any suggestions?
