Guest Wayne Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 After upgrading our DHCP and Term server from Sevrer 2k to server 2k3 our existing terminal services users stared getting the following error: "To logon to this remote computer you must be granted the allow logon right. By default members of the remote desktop users group have this right. If you are not a member of the remote desktop users group or another group that has this right, or if the remote desktop user group does not have this right you must be granted this right manually." The other users that were on another term server that already had win server 2k3 were not affected. If we add Domain Admin to their member group they are able to logon, but of course get a different logon screen. Thanks in advance! Wayne
Guest Marcin Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Re: logon error msg after upgradeing from server 2k to server 2k3 Wayne - as the message indicates, you need to add your TS users to Remote Desktop Users group on the Windows Server 2003 to which they want to connect... hth Marcin
Guest Wayne Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Re: logon error msg after upgradeing from server 2k to server 2k3 Hello Marcin, Thanks for the reply. We had to: add the "Local TS Users" group to the "Remote desktop users" group on the terminal server and this worked. Thanks for your help!
