Mixed 64bit and 32bit terminal server farm with roaming profiles

Hi,

a part of our large citrix farm shall run in 64bit 2003 soon. Some

Apllications will be hosted on 32 bit servers, other on 64 bit

servers.

I read that there could be problems with the roaming profiles, because

of the registry and file redirector in x64 Win, but the info was

pretty thin.

Has anybody first hand experience with that? Or more detailed

information about the problem?

Thanks and best regards, robert

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that a 32 versus 64-bit OS

has an impact on how profiles are stored.

Maybe you read about the version-1 (XP / 2003) versus version-2

(Vista / 2008) types of profiles?

See :

data to Windows Vista or to Windows Server 2008

Thats right, but i belive the problem could be in the ntuser.dat,

cause on x64 you got different layout of the registry (wow64).

I just read somewhere that it can be a problem if you have mixed

access to 32 and 64 bit applicationservers with one profile.

I haven't tested it, but I believe that the wow64 registry

reflector takes care of this.

See:
