Deleting Files/Folders through Windows Explorer

I am using Windows XP Pro. When I am in Windows Explorer and select a

folder on the left, the contents, which consists of folders and files

appears on the right.

 

If I select all the folders and files on the right and press delete,

the files begin to delete. However, I often will get prompts

appearing such as "this file is read only, are you sure you want to

delete" as well as other similar messages.

 

Is there any way to delete these files through explorer and not get

those prompts so that when delete is selected, all files are deleted,

no prompts?

If you select the read-only files, and globally clear the read only

attribute (in explorer, select them and right click on Properties and

uncheck that box), it would be.

Only thing is that there are 1000s of files that I back up nightly and

when I need to delete files, there are probably 10 times that many. I

wouldn't be able to check the attributes of each file to find out

which one someone accidentally put a read only attribute.

 

That's kind of why I was hoping there was a way to delete the files

through explorer without prompts. I know you can surpress prompts

when you delete through a dos prompt, but would prefer to stick with

explorer.

Then you will need to select "Yes to All".
