Guest ghillard Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I have a Windows 2003 server (HP DL360 G5) which I have upgraded from Standard Edition to Enterprise R2. I have installed 32GB RAM in the server but Windows only recognizes 3.25GB. The Bios on the server recognizes all 32GB. I have added the /PAE switch to the boot.ini file but still Windows only sees 3.25 GB. Have I missed something? Thank you in advance for your help. Greg
Guest Peter Lawton Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Re: 32GB RAM in Windows server 2003 As long as you're running Enterprise edition and have the /PAE switch it should see all the RAM, that should be all you need to do. Guest Paul Weterings Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Re: 32GB RAM in Windows server 2003 Silly question maybe; but does your BIOS actually see the 32Gb of RAM? Guest Bruce Sanderson Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Re: 32GB RAM in Windows server 2003 Well, with 32 GB RAM, I suggest you consider using the 64 bit version of Windows 2003 - you will most likely get better performance. Have you asked HP support of your re-seller? -- Bruce Sanderson http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
