Turn Off Computer problem

[Guest P & H Macguire]

Recently, when selecting Turn Off Computer, there is a delay of about 10-15

seconds before the dialog box appears and during which the HDD light stays

on. This used to be almost instantaneous.

 

Any ideas?

Did you install any software lately?

What happens if you try from the run box:

shutdown -f -s

No new software recently.

 

When I type shutdown -f -s I get:

 

Dialog box saying something like. The system is shutting down. Please save

any unsaved work.. and starts counting down from about 30 secs

 

Blue "Saving Settings" screen

 

Shutdown. Computer switches off.

 

Hope this tells you something!
