re : error code 000000f4

I have been having the same blue screen/ error code. Started when moving

large quantity of files from 2nd physical drive(E) to 2nd partition of

primary drive(D).

 

did a restore problem seemed to split. Happened again much later doing

same thing + crashed all restore points. Problem now persists.

 

I'm just a hack, but the only answer I found at Microsoft was to

replace drive.

CHKDSK /R & /I functions also cause crashes (on D: only).

 

can transfer from D: but transfering to D: causes crashes

opening pic files on D: crashes at various time intervals

 

My gut answer is the NTFS file structure has problems with newly

created bad sectors

 

my current test- have moved both HD's from raid controller to IDE

controller

haven't tried to force a crash yet as I'm trolling the net now for more

info

 

if my guts right it won't make a difference
