it also failed after clean boot, os is updating with services pack 2,

error log contained many messages as follows:

....file....cannot open...unreachable...etc

Hello NTBACKUP FAILED FOR SYSTEM DATE BACKUP ?,

 

If you have problems please describe also the operating system you use and

post the complete error message including the event viewer entry if exist.

Also if you have one posting opened please do not open another one about

the same content.

Re: need help: ntbackup failed for system state

 

I'm running Windows Server 2003 SP2. Microsoft ISA & MDeamon server are

installed in the server.

When using NTBackup to backup the System State I get the following message

in the backup log:

 

Backup Status

Operation: Backup

Active backup destination: File

Media name: "Backup.bkf created 3/17/2008 at 11:42 AM"

 

Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 1.

Backup (via shadow copy) of "System State"

Backup set #1 on media #1

Backup description: "Set created 3/17/2008 at 11:42 AM"

Media name: "Backup.bkf created 3/17/2008 at 11:42 AM"

 

Backup Type: Copy

 

Backup started on 3/17/2008 at 11:42 AM.

 

Error: Could not access portions of directory System State\Boot

Files\C:\WINDOWS\Application Compatibility Scripts.

You may not have permission to open the file, or the directory may be

missing or damaged.

Please contact the owner or administrator.

 

Warning: Unable to open "C:\WINDOWS\Application Compatibility Scripts" -

skipped.

Reason: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

 

 

Warning: Unable to open "C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\acuddi.dll" - skipped.

Reason: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

No event id 8001 is found in event viewer.

the different solutions were not work in following posting:
