Usb stick password protection??

Hi everyone

 

Would like to place some basic password protection on my memory sticks just in case i lose one of them .

 

Any suggestions? is there a windows way of doing this or do you need a specialist program like trucrypt?

Have you thought about putting your files on the usb into a zipped folder and password protecting that folder with a passwrod longer then 7 characters, making it harder to crack if its lost

Thanks for reply , sounds good idea apart from having to go in and out of a zip file , but have also just discovered my latest stick has "U3" tech built in which includes a password system.

 

Have you heard of U3 and if so is it good to use ?

U3 comes with both password protection and safe browsing feature I'd use the password protection but the safe surfing feature seems not to be much of note from what I read Kev ,i'd personnaly give U3 a whirl but i''d protect it with some crazy long winded hezadecimal 13 didgt key lol
