Getting XP Pro laptop to boot normally again

One laptop stopped booting normally recently. So we used the XP-Boot floppy

(created earlier) to boot the unit.

How can one now get the normal boot working again?

TIA

You need to report in detail what happens when you boot

the machine without the floppy disk. Remember - we cannot

see your machine!

Sorry! After the motherboard boot posts there would be a blinking cursor

upper left corner. The boot floppy used had the ntloader, ntdetect and

boot.ini files on it as recommended in a MS KB article.

Thanks.

The blinking cursor is often the result of your boot partition

not being marked active. You need to run diskmgmt.msc to

mark it active.
